Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has set an ambitious goal for the country in the effort to reduce global warming.

New Zealand plans to use reforestation as a means to remove some of the large amounts of CO2 emitted to the atmosphere. Under the “1 Billion Trees Programme” prime minister Ardern’s government promises to plant 100 million trees every year for ten years. The government wants New Zealand to achieve zero emmissions by 2050.

New Zealand is leading the way for the rest of us with it’s grand tree planting plan!
